NEW! Recording Analysis and Feedback Session:

  • Have you recently recorded your actual “audition round” and need feedback and insider tips on your result?

  • Are you training on your own and would love feedback on your home recorded mock round?

  • Are you preparing for college preliminary recording rounds and would like valuable feedback before you submit to the University?

Sharon has found this to be a unique and invaluable tool to help audition takers in their preparation. This is NOT a coaching, rather an honest, in-depth evaluation of YOUR recording. Once your recording is submitted, Sharon will send you a detailed voice recording via a private google link providing you with her insight on how to bring your recording (or audition round) to the next level. Fees reflect the length of the recording you submit:

  • up to 15 minute recording: $100

  • up to 30 minute recording: $150

ABOUT SHARON SPARROW:

Sharon Sparrow has become one of the most sought-after orchestral audition coaches in the industry. She combines her expertise and experience of winning orchestral auditions herself and also sitting on professional orchestra audition committees for over 35 years with her tried and true coaching methods. Sharon creates an environment of excitement and success for audition takers, using many strategies from her acclaimed “6 Weeks to Finals” audition success book.

Based on her belief that COMPLETE training for auditions must include mental training and event training as well as a detailed precision and enjoyment of each excerpt, she offers individual coaching sessions and also packages that incorporate all three of these essential elements for success.

Sharon’s coaching clients have recently won or placed in finals in: The Pittsburgh Symphony; The St. Louis Symphony; The Grand Rapids Symphony; the Columbus Symphony; the Harrisburg Symphony; the Omaha Symphony; The Coast Guard Band; the National Army Fife and Drum Corp; to name a few. In addition, and even more importantly, her coaching clients walk away from auditions feeling empowered, encouraged and excited to embrace any next steps in their audition or musical journey.

What recent coaching clients are saying:

  • “I recently won the (orchestra) principal audition and used your book, Six Weeks to Finals, and the comments you gave me after my DSO audition a few years ago and wanted to thank you. Your comments were so helpful after my audition, and I really loved everything you had to say in your book; particularly the sections on the importance of mental preparation. I found myself so at-ease on audition day and literally grinning from ear-to-ear with excitement at the start of every round. The idea of the 'mental mock audition' changed my life and is something I will carry with me throughout my career.”

  • “If you think you can do it alone, you’re wrong. You’ll step up to the music stand and you won’t have the mental preparation, concentration, organization, and stamina it takes to complete an excerpt let alone any round of the audition. To try and hit a grand slam in baseball is the ultimate high-pressure situation. I hit that grand slam and won the audition for [orchestra] because Sharon Sparrow was part of my team of coaches. The ultimate game changer was working directly with her, step by step, note by note, recording by recording, and mock after mock to complete the Audition Advantage course. Her techniques not only made my excerpts better, but my overall playing has vastly improved. I will continue to use the same methods as I did in preparation for auditions, but now for the job that I felt was always just out of reach. With Sharon’s help, I was able to prove not only to the committee but also to myself, ‘I can do this!’”

  • “Thank you again for your coaching for the [orchestra] audition. The result in a nutshell is that I did not win, but I am a changed musician from the experience. :) I was one of the four finalists, which I know would not have happened without your book and coaching!”

  • “I am very pleased to share that I WON the assistant principal/second flute position in [orchestra] today!!! I had lots of mental struggle during the audition by attaching to audition results…but I tried to focus music and details that I’ve worked on with you!! And it worked well!!!! I really really appreciate all what you taught me. And it drastically changed my audition life. Thank you so much!”
